An African Dream: The Untamed Luxury of One Nature Nyaruswiga in Serengeti, Tanzania

After our trip to Namibia two years ago, we developed what is commonly known as "Africa fever." That irresistible desire to return to the continent, to experience its wild nature and unparalleled beauty once again. Despite our fears of not being able to relive the incredible emotions we felt in Namibia, we decided to embark on a new African adventure, this time choosing Tanzania, particularly the Serengeti.

Now, having just returned, I can say with absolute certainty that this experience was, if possible, even more incredible, thrilling, and fulfilling. Itā€™s a journey I recommend everyone takes at least once in their lifetime. We had the privilege of staying at two hotels from the One Nature chain, starting with One Nature Nyaruswiga, located in one of the most beautiful areas of the Serengeti. One Nature is an ultra-luxury boutique hotel group located in some of the worldā€™s most thrilling and exotic destinations. Every destination offers 5-star luxury accommodations and nature-based adventures, complemented by upscale service, top-quality amenities, and a commitment to sustainability.

A Memorable Welcome

Our journey began with a private flight from Uganda, where we had just experienced the thrilling Gorilla Trekking. We landed on a small airstrip in the heart of nature, deep in the Serengeti. Even during the flight, we started to sense the uniqueness of this new adventure: a landing on a dirt strip surrounded by the vast, untouched African savanna. Upon our arrival, the One Nature staff surprised us with a bush aperitif: a bottle of chilled champagne, delicious snacks, and a table set in the heart of the wild, surrounded by animals already starting to appear from a distance. This was just the beginning of what would be an unforgettable stay.

A Luxury Tented Camp Like No Other

One Nature Nyaruswiga is an ultra-luxurious tented camp that perfectly combines the magic of the wild with maximum comfort. The tents, if they can even be called that, are masterpieces of design and luxury. Inside, you completely forget that you are in the middle of the wilderness: a magnificent bathtub, a fireplace in the center of the room, and a wonderfully comfortable bed where you can admire the fire burning during the night. After dinner, they would prepare the bed with hot water bottles to warm it and light the fire.

Itā€™s so romantic to fall asleep with the fire crackling and the sounds of the savanna.

The minibar, always stocked and unlimited, is included in the price and offers a wide selection of drinks and snacks. Additionally, each tent comes equipped with binoculars for close-up views of the surrounding wildlife. Another authentic touch is provided by the Masai warriors, dressed in traditional attire, who escort you to your tent and serve as camp guards, adding an extra layer of authenticity to the experience. The camp also features a beautiful lounge area with a bar offering exclusive cocktails and a selection of high-quality liquors, where you can enjoy a cigar or read a good book in complete relaxation.

Exclusive Safaris and Dreamy Breakfasts

The day after our arrival, JosƩ, our private driver, suggested that we depart at dawn for a safari. It was 6 a.m. when we got into our vehicle, ready to experience something unique. But after just a few minutes of driving, we received a surprise we will never forget: a sunrise breakfast in an elevated area of the bush, with a breathtaking view of the sunrise over the Serengeti. It was a breakfast that exceeded all our expectations: the chef prepared eggs for us on the spot, just as we would have ordered at the hotel restaurant. Additionally, they served us yogurt with homemade granola, fresh fruit, breakfast pastries, tea, and coffee, all prepared by the chef right there. This moment, with the golden light of the sun rising on the African horizon, was simply unforgettable.

The rest of the day was dedicated to the safari, and we were fortunate enough to see an incredible number of animals: lions hunting, elephants, hippos refreshing themselves in the rivers, and even a leopard that had just caught its prey. Every moment was a deep immersion in the wild, with the Serengeti offering us endless landscapes and a peace that only such a remote place can provide. Even the vehicle was impressive: a completely open Land Cruiser, equipped with all the comforts: leather seats, binoculars, insect repellent spray, a fridge with drinks and snacks, power outlets to charge our devices, and a 360-degree view to not miss any detail of the surrounding wildlife.

The Relaxing Luxury of the Camp

After a day of exploration, returning to the camp was an absolute pleasure. In addition to the comfort of the tent, One Nature Nyaruswiga offers a magnificent pool with a jacuzzi, where you can cool off after the safari, enjoying a drink at the poolside bar. The camp is truly an oasis of luxury in the wild, with every imaginable comfort.

A Romantic Experience

Upon returning from the safari, there was always a surprise waiting for us. One evening, the staff organized an outdoor cinema just for us, surrounded by candles and a lit fireplace, where we watched the classic "The Lion King," sipping champagne under the African stars. On another evening, our guide organized a sundowner under a tree we had noticed several times during our safaris. It was a magical moment: a rug spread on the red earth, a bar set up under the African sky, and the chef ready to cook for us as the sun set. We enjoyed the bush sunset this way, sipping champagne right under this tree we had noticed several times during our safaris in the previous days. Itā€™s incredible to think they decided to surprise us by organizing such a romantic activity right there. At One Nature, details are everything.

Conclusions

This journey left an indelible mark on our hearts. The kindness and attention to detail from the staff, combined with the beauty of the place, made our experience at One Nature Nyaruswiga truly special. If you are looking for a unique and luxurious experience in the heart of the Serengeti, I highly recommend staying here. And donā€™t forget to read the next article, where I will tell you about our stay at One Nature Mara River, another gem that gave us unforgettable moments.

Useful Tips for a Perfect Trip

Among the various experiences we had, there are some important tips to remember:

  • Visas: Make sure to check the visa requirements for Tanzania and obtain them in advance if necessary.

  • Drone: If you wish to fly a drone, you must obtain a permit, which can be requested online before departure.

  • Private Safaris: If possible, try to arrange private safaris like ours. Being alone with your driver, rather than with other strangers, makes the experience much more romantic and intimate.

  • Tips: Tipping is essential in Tanzania. I recommend being generous, especially with the staff who accompany you during the safaris and at the tented camps.

  • Domestic Flights: Domestic flights in Tanzania can be expensive, even though they are short. Consider them in your budget.

  • Climate: In August, daytime temperatures are magnificent, around 25 degrees Celsius, but it can get cooler at night. Bring a few sweaters or light jackets, especially if, like us, you want to spend as much time outdoors as possible.
